Red Oak Theatre’s next production, SPLINTER by Gemma Prangle, comes to the Sherman Studio from Saturday 14th to Saturday 21st September 2024.

A father. A daughter. A body.

Suspended together in an imagined forest space, Mali and David navigate the impending death of their mother and wife. As
tensions rise, chasms form in their already delicate relationship.
Splinter unearths the restlessness of grief and how nature manages to hold us in those moments where holding ourselves feels impossible.

The play stars Nia Gandhi (Enola Holmes 2, Casualty, Pijin/Pigeon) and Rhys Parry Jones (House of the Dragon, A Very English Scandal, Eastenders), and is co-directed by Nerida Bradley and Matthew Holmquist. This will be Red Oak Theatre’s first production as a Company In Residence at Sherman Theatre.

I didn’t set out to write a play about grief,” says Prangle of her beautiful debut play, “but I think sometimes our personal experiences sit so strongly in our bodies that those stories find a way to be told.

Join us for this unique and deeply moving experience this September.
