The Welsh language is a prominent feature in our society with research indicating that 86% of people in Wales feel proud of the language.
The Arts Council of Wales expects all grant-aided organisations to support the principle of working bilingually and to show consideration for the Welsh language.
Welsh has been an official language in Wales since the passing of the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure in 2011. It is the Welsh Government’s ambition to reach one million Welsh speakers in Wales by 2050 and to ensure that everyone enjoys the freedom to use Welsh in all aspects of life. The Arts Council of Wales is committed to supporting this vision.
You may have a statutory duty to comply with one or more of the Welsh language standards under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.
