Celf Wyllt is an exciting pilot project that combines creative arts, emotional regulation techniques and a connection to nature to improve mental health and well-being in young people aged 14 - 16. The project runs until June 2025 and is supported by Arts, Health and Wellbeing Lottery Funding through The Arts Council of Wales.
The ‘Amethyst Ffynnon’ partnership is Small World Theatre, Ffynnon Community Resilience (Ffynnon) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The specialist team is launching a 6-week programme to support young people who are struggling with their mental health to creatively connect to nature.
Project coordinator Deri Morgan from Small World Theatre said:
“We've long been talking about working with young people using arts in nature as a tool for emotional regulation. We are very excited about our new partnership with Ffynnon and CAMHS and we believe that participants will find these sessions supportive and enjoyable and a valuable new experience.”
Tessa Stewart, Ffynnon Project Coordinator added:
"This project aims to build a sense of belonging and create connections to the self through nature and art using all of the senses and elements."
