Gwen Yr Arth Wen will be touring to small theatres, community centres and libraries during Spring 2026. We are seeking a freelance Marketing and Press specialist to ensure that the show reaches its target audience in areas of South Wales with low numbers of Welsh speakers.

Gwen Yr Arth Wen - written by Chris Harris and Directed by Elan Isaac is a show for children 6+ and their families to enjoy through the medium of Welsh.

Gwen, an anxious polar bear, wakes up on a broken icecap hundreds of miles away from her family. On her perilous journey through the arctic sea, she will have to find her courage, as well as her way home. A visual and thought-provoking performance for young audiences and their families on climate change and home.

We are looking for someone who

  • Can connect with community groups and individuals to sell the show and its message
  • Has experience dealing with theatrical venues as well as community spaces and creating assets for venues to use for their own marketing.
  • Is confident either communicating in Welsh or has experience working on other Welsh language projects if they are not a Welsh speaker themselves.
  • Has experience ordering and distributing print in an environmentally sound way.
  • Has experience managing their own budget
  • Has experience contacting press outlets - we are not necessarily interested in receiving reviewers for this show but would like it highlighted in local news outlets.
  • Has experience using social media to spread the word about theatrical productions.
  • Is confident in writing and editing copy and press releases.
  • Arranging promotional material of the show, including photography
