Do you enjoy talking to people? Are you passionate about / interested in the arts and their benefits for all? Would you like to earn some money chatting to people in your community about Joon Dance?
Joon Dance is looking for two sociable, confident people to help us reach new participants and audiences in our communities. Working in Pembrokeshire and Cardiff, Joon offer creative, inclusive and participant-centred dance sessions and performance opportunities. We work with improvisation, the landscape and environment, stories, movement techniques and dance in various forms to celebrate the creativity and physicality in everyone. This year we are creating a bold re-telling of Cinderella with a feminist, de-gendered edge and we want to reach new people who enjoy - or are interested in trying- dance and movement to join us in creating a performance. As part of our engagement strategy we are looking for someone in each location to support our work by talking to people about us. You might already know Joon or have an interest in dance, or you might be new to both. Either way, if you’re passionate about the arts and open to learning about Joon, we’d love to hear from you. You will need to feel confident speaking to people - whether they’re friends, acquaintances or strangers - and be happy to tell them about Joon and the work we do.
You’ll be paid for 12 half-days of work over 6 - 12 weeks (flexible hours) during which time we ask that you spend a short time learning about our plans and offers and then simply finding ways to tell as many people as possible about us and how they can get involved. We will help you plan how to do this and keep in touch with you throughout the work period. In Cardiff our target participants are aged 11+, and in Pembrokeshire they’ll be aged 6+. We welcome adults of all ages. We are very happy adapting our work to the needs of participants and welcome movers of diverse ability. We also want to reach new audiences for our shows of any age.
