With the schools having reopened after the summer holidays the Arts Council of Wales’ ‘Night Out’ scheme is inviting local societies and clubs from across Wales, who may well be thinking about their calendar of events for winter and spring, to consider arranging a night out of Professional artistic entertainment.

This scheme provides security that the promoters of the event won’t be out of pocket, even if the numbers attending don’t provide enough income to cover the cost of staging the event, as well as ensuring that quality entertainment is available at reasonable cost, since the scheme contributes hugely to community life all across Wales.

Peter Gregory, Head of the Arts Council of Wales’ Night Out scheme said:

“Across the whole of Wales during 2018-19, the Night Out scheme funded 513 performances in communities in all parts of Wales, and it continues to go from strength to strength, and make such a difference, at very little cost to the public purse, to support cultural life in Wales’ most rural and remote areas.

“I hope that clubs and societies across Wales will take advantage of this invitation and opportunity to arrange quality arts entertainment, and that this in turn will support and encourage cultural life across our nation.”
