Shadowing Opportunity for Women and Non-Binary artists
Ever wanted to find out more about what goes on behind the scenes in a gallery between shows, and develop skills in the process?
Ffotogallery are looking for emerging artists and photographers who identify as female or non-binary, who have an interest in learning more about what happens between exhibitions at contemporary art spaces, to get hands-on experience in gallery technician work.
This opportunity might be ideal for someone who has an interest in working as a Gallery Technician, or who might just want to learn more about the practical side of exhibition installation or changeover.
We will be refurbishing Ffotogallery from 12-16 May, and will be using this opportunity for change as a way to introduce more people into the behind-the-scenes of exhibition making, and build skills and confidence in working in this male-dominated field. It is our hope that people who take part in this opportunity may be interested in working with us and other galleries across Wales and further afield in the future.
Deadline for expressions of interest is 11:59pm on Thursday 1 May. We will get in touch with selected expressions of interest on Friday 2 May. We are looking for 2-3 individuals for this opportunity, who will receive a £40 p/day stipend equivalent to apprenticeship wages.
