Digital Marketing Officer

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Officer is a bilingual post (Welsh / English) responsible for coordinating, delivering and reporting on digital campaigns across Mwldan’s in-house live events, film screenings and broadcast events, and external events (e.g. Other Voices Cardigan) and productions as needed, working closely with other members of the marketing.  The role also involves general marketing tasks, supporting the marketing team as required, and ensuring brand consistency across all touch points.

Based in Cardigan, this is a full-time, 9-month temporary position working 37.5 hours, primarily Monday to Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends dependent on programme).

The salary for the post is £26,386  pro rata (based on a 37.5 hour week) plus holiday pay.

Digital Marketing Officer Job Description

We are looking for a bilingual (English / Welsh) Marketing Officer to help and support with marketing campaigns and social media marketing across Mwldan’s busy programme of events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves music, film and the arts in general and has experience in and enthusiasm for communicating via social media.

Joining a passionate creative team in a well-established bilingual Arts Centre, you will execute customer marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency across all touch points. Based in Cardigan, this is a full-time, 9-month temporary position working 37.5 hours, primarily Monday to Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends dependent on programme), offering a salary of £26,386.

The day-to-day:

  • Create regular high-quality content for in-house digital screens and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X and other channels that resonate with the target audience, ensuring that all programmed events and screenings receive timely and even coverage and promotion.
  • Generate innovative campaign ideas to drive audience interaction and participation across Mwldan’s in-house programme, Other Voices Festival and our touring and production/record label work.
  • Develop and evolve the social media strategy to increase engagement while aligning with our brand values.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, while using your own initiative, working unsupervised to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities. 
  • Assist with regular programme uploads and updates to Ticketsolve (Mwldan‘s box office system) and our website mwldan.co.uk ensuring both are fully up to date with the correct information and assets.
  • Collate assets from visiting companies and cinema distributors as necessary for ensuring the most up-to-date materials available are being used across campaigns.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of marketing campaigns via Mailchimp.
  • Assist with the upload of touring dates to website and listing pages, and the update of Electronic Press Kits as necessary
  • Analyse and collate social media marketing performance / statistics and provide reports via GA4, Meta etc. to the Head of Marketing as required for funders reporting and to inform future programme and campaign planning.
  • Coordinate weekly press releases to local and national media, responding to media enquiries where required.
  • Create and coordinate weekly ladder adverts for print in local press.
  • Help coordinate the marketing schedule.
  • Proof read marketing materials as needed. 
  • Support the Marketing team with general marketing campaigns and other tasks as necessary.

You will have/be

  • A confident Welsh speaker and writer (familiar with Welsh social media terminology).
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while using your own initiative, working unsupervised to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and copy-writing skills.
  • Proven ability to produce and adapt written and visual materials that cater to different audiences. 
  • Experience and proficiency in marketing, and the analysis of campaigns to inform future programming/marketing.
  • Experience in creating creative social media campaigns.
  • Expertise in optimising social media efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisation and IT skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and engage different stakeholders.
  • Experience in/of using design tools, video and photography editing software in Canva, Adobe CC and Mailchimp
  • Experience of Box Office systems e.g. Ticketsolve
