Located on Love Lane in Denbigh, The Carriageworks has seen a transformation as of late becoming a regular space for contemporary art. It's called studioMADE and is run by artists Angela Davies and Mark Eaglen. Since late 2022 they have been busy organising regular exhibitions and events from the historic building positioned close to the castle grounds.

The latest in these exhibitions sees recent MA graduate and curatorial intern Rosie Wyllie from Cardiff put together a selection of artworks from recent BA and MA graduates from across Wales. The show, titled A Different View contains the work of nine artists: Seren Ambrose Ellis, Megan Bloomfield, Nandini Chandavarkar, Sarah Grounds, Harri Hughes, Gweni Llwyd, Ruth Petersen, Jonathan Retallick and Ryan Saunders.

The exhibition gives a platform to recent graduates’ ideas and emerging lines of enquiry. The artworks on display explore the relationship between materiality and place, raise questions around identity and self-image, confront social and political infrastructures, and communicate the subtleties and complexities of everyday experience. The artists have studied at art institutions across Wales, including Aberystwyth School of Art, Cardiff School of Art and Design, Carmarthen School of Art, Swansea College of Art UWTSD, and Wrexham Glyndŵr University.

A Different View will run at studioMADE until Saturday 25th November 2023 and is open Thursday – Saturday, 11am until 4pm.
