Since opening its doors in 2019, CULTVR has established Cardiff as a hub for immersive arts and XR (Extended Reality), pioneering as the UK’s very first immersive arts centre. Entirely independently founded and operated, CULTVR remains the only venue in the UK capable of presenting large scale live immersive performances with fulldome visuals, an achievement that has put Cardiff firmly on the international immersive arts map.
This October, CULTVR welcomes back the Soundscape Sessions for a second year, continuing its mission to push the boundaries of music, art and technology. The 2025 edition is supported by Cardiff Music City Festival, further cementing the dome as a key platform for cultural innovation in the city.
This year’s lineup includes:
● Ishmael Ensemble: The Bristol based collective renowned for their genre-defying blend of jazz, electronica, and psychedelia performing with live visuals created by award-winning studio 4Pi Productions.
● Monocolor: The acclaimed audiovisual artist from Vienna presenting a breathtaking immersive performance that blur the boundaries between spatial sound, light and space.
● Beardyman: The legendary live-looping pioneer and master of vocal wizardry, bringing his boundary-pushing performance style to the dome.
From the very beginning, CULTVR has attracted creatives from across the UK who were eager to explore immersive storytelling but lacked access to the infrastructure in their own regions. Over time, Cardiff has grown into part of a global network of immersive venues, connected with international leaders such as Montreal’s Society for Arts & Technology (SAT) and representing the city at major cultural events like SXSW in Texas.
Hosted within CULTVR’s dome, Soundscape Sessions offers audiences a unique sensory journey, combining world-class live acts with immersive visuals.
