Galeri Caernarfon community initiative has announced three new vacancies — each playing a key role in implementing the company's vision over the coming months.

Galeri contributes almost £2.5m a year to the economy of Gwynedd and Anglesey through various sustainable and creative projects — realising the cultural, economic and environmental potential of the local area.

Beyond the Galeri Arts Centre, the company is responsible for the renovation of over twenty empty buildings that had been neglected in the town, as well as the Cei Llechi regeneration project which is now home to an artisan village featuring work by Beth Horrocks, Lisa Eurgain Taylor and Glyn Davies.

Almost three months into her appointment as Galeri's new Chief Executive, Nia Arfon is preparing to recruit three additional members to the company's core staff, to contribute to the continued success of its work.

The roles include a Director of Operations, who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the arts centre and wider properties; Corporate Officer, who will coordinate and support the Chief Executive and the governance of the Company; and a Technician, who will provide technical service across the theatre, cinema and wider facilities.

Beyond these appointments, the company also plans to expand its marketing team in the near future. Although no specific marketing job descriptions are currently available, Galeri encourages anyone interested in the field, regardless of their experience, skill or talent to get in touch for an informal conversation.

Looking ahead to an exciting new chapter, Nia Arfon said: "People are at the heart of the company, and I've already had the privilege of working with many inspiring individuals — in creative fields and beyond.

"Expanding the team will enable us to deepen those connections — whether with tenants; prospective tenants or stakeholders — and ensure true sustainability and creativity in all aspects of our work.

"With a strong strategic staff infrastructure, I am confident that we can venture and realise our long-term vision of opening doors to people who would not normally be involved in the actions of the Company, and Caernarfon more widely."

This development follows Galeri’s recent appointment of eight new members to its Board, including Lois Prys, Sharon Owen, Siwan Haf and Rhodri Morgan — who bring a wealth of experience, diversity and enthusiasm to the strategic direction of the Company.
