EA Productions, in partnership with Pontio and Fran Wen based in Bangor, North Wales are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an actor to join the second research and development phase of our Arts Council Wales funded project, "The School of Planet Powers for Extraordinary Children." This immersive show aims to engage young audiences in environmental education through interactive storytelling and immersive theatre experiences.

Roles:

 

Headteacher: Playing age 30-50yrs

The headteacher role represents the ethos of the school and acts as a moral compass, when this character strays from the straight and narrow it is clear that something isn’t right with the school.

 

Twin 1: Playing age 16-18yrs

The twins are pivotal roles that guide the whole experience.

 

Twin 2: Playing age 16-18yrs

Role Description:

- Skills Required:

  - Proficiency in dance/movement/physical theatre

  - Strong singing ability

  - Experience in immersive theatre and its development

  - Comfortable with collaborative work

- Bilingual English/Welsh desired

 

 

Project Timeline:

- Casting Week Commencing: 6th May with three locations:

  • Theatr Clwyd, Mold
  • Mostyn Gallery, Llandudno
  • Pontio, Bangor

- Research and Development (R&D) Weeks: Week Commencing 3rd June and 10th June (Must be available for both weeks)

 

Additional Information:

- Script Development: The script will be developed through a devised process, emphasizing collaborative input from the selected actors.

- The project aims to lead to production, targeted for early 2025.
