The Welsh Government are looking for passionate people who will support the arts in Wales and challenge and influence the work of the Arts Council of Wales by joining its Council of trustees.
To help the recruitment process, the Arts Council of Wales has arranged Zoom drop-in sessions with current members of the Council. Each session is designed to allow possible candidates to have a 10-minute individual conversation with Council members, to ask any questions they may have, and to get clarification on the nature of the role.

It’s important to note that the purpose of the sessions is to provide opportunities for possible candidates to find out more about the specific role of Council Member from current members. There will not be an opportunity at these sessions to discuss the wider role of the Arts Council of Wales, its actions or strategy.
The Government and the Arts Council believe that everybody in Wales should have the chance to experience the arts, and that public bodies should represent different communities and lifestyles so they can understand the people of Wales and make better decisions. Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented people. These can include:
- People from different ethnic backgrounds including black people and non-black people of colour
- Welsh speakers
- Women
- Young people under 30-years-old
- Disabled people
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual people
- Trans people
- people from communities with high levels of economic disadvantage or poverty

Each position will be for three years and you will be asked to spend 1.5 days a month doing Council work, such as going to meetings in different parts of Wales. These posts are unpaid but there will be money to pay for the cost of travel, meals, and overnight stays.
