We are delighted to confirm two new members to Ballet Cymru’s Board of Directors: Adam Music and Evelyn James.
Following a trustee recruitment campaign last year, Adam and Evelyn were shortlisted for the role and were formally appointed as Board Members in Spring 2024.
Adam Music is a primary school teacher and opera singer based in South Wales. With a diverse range of experiences and keen interest in hearing new voices and stories, he has a keen passion for all performing arts and making them inclusive and accessible to all. He is excited to be part of a Ballet Cymru as an organisation that values education and embraces the richness of cultural experiences.
Evelyn James is the Campaign Manager for project Diverse5050 WEN. She is a Legal Practitioner and holds a master’s degree in Development studies – Human rights, Gender and Conflict. She also holds an LLM in LegalTech at Swansea University, Wales.
Evelyn advocates for justice and social change, conflict and peace resolution mechanisms. Amongst the many portfolio she holds, Evelyn remains focused on impacting positive change in the world inclusive of all voices, devoid of discrimination and sees equal opportunities accorded to all.
Evelyn offered mentoring support for Ballet Cymru in a recent Anti Racism programme led by Arts Council of Wales, and since then has been actively involved in helping the company to engage with people from diverse communities.
