As The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre’s much anticipated 2023/24 pantomime Beauty and the Beast officially opens this evening to a sell-out crowd, what better day to celebrate The Riverfront panto by exclusively announcing the title of next year’s show!
The Riverfront pantomime has become a firm Newport favourite and a key event in the festive calendar of all ages for 17 seasons now. Robin Hood was a roaring success last year, welcoming over 27,000 people into the theatre, and this years’ Beauty and the Beast is on track to be even more popular with over 20,000 tickets sold already!

Join our hero Dick Whittington and his trusty cat, Tommy as they set out on an epic journey from Newport in search of fame, fortune, friendship and adventure! Will the journey go to plan? Will the road be paved with gold? In true pantomime style is anything ever this simple?
This rags to riches tale promises to be full of laugh out loud gags, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes, the baddest baddies and plenty of audience participation!
The Riverfront panto draws in audiences of all ages including schools, community groups and families, encouraging them to sit back and enjoy a glittering production full of song, dance, comedy, and of course pantomime magic.
