Close the doors and let’s have a bit of hush please! The latest Bara Caws Club Show is about to begin…
Bara Caws has a long tradition of presenting this particular genre of show which appeals to a wide variety of people - funny, irreverent and very close to the bone… The first club show, Zwmba, was produced back in 1986, which had evolved from the reviews originally presented in pubs, Croeso i’r Roial (Welcome to the Royal), being the very first show the company performed at the Wrexham National Eisteddfod in 1977.
Whilst in the throes of the pandemic, we had to think 'outside the box' and decided to present a virtual performance of Dawel Nos written by Cwmni 303, and following popular demand we toured 8 live performances some months later.
So, this year, we are pleased to announce that Iwan Charles and Llyr Evans have been hard at work once again writing a new show, and now we are proud to present Mwrdwr ar y Maes… (Murder on the Field)
Well, the Eisteddfod at Aberbronfraith has been fairly successful, and a lot of boxes have been ticked. The Crown, the Prose Medal and the Daniel Owen have been won, and all that’s left of the week’s big awards is the Chair. Tick, tick, tick. And a huge tick to the Eisteddfod itself for being so inclusive, a clear sign that things are moving with the times.
It is no longer an Eisteddfod for the middle classes, but an Eisteddfod for everyone, those without work, without a roof over their heads, and those without talent... But a murder has been committed, and if there’s been a murder, there must be a murdererererer…but who is it?
Brace yourselves for an electrifying evening of live music, madcap characters, and a lorra lorra laughs! This roller-coaster ride of a show is not for the faint-hearted - but for those daring enough to join the fun, it promises a night you'll never forget!
