Jeb Loy Nichols has been making and recording music for over thirty years, performing in Europe and America. Rollingstone magazine has called him “The high priest of country cool”. Over the course of 15 solo records he has mixed the worlds of country, folk, soul and reggae. Gilles Peterson, on BBC 6 Radio said, “Unearthed mine full of gems from inner Wales - a songbook of ideas - that’s Jeb!”. Recently Jeb has released 4 records; a collaboration with jazz pianist Jennifer Carr, a record produced by legendary reggae producer Adrian Sherwood, a set of soul tunes with the acclaimed Timmion collective from Finland, and an acoustic duo record with Clovis Phillips.
Andrew Hawkey is the hidden heart of Welsh music. For nearly 50 years he has inhabited a singular place at the centre of the Welsh singer/songwriter/folk/blues scene. As a solo performer, writer, producer, and a band member, he’s carved out a unique place for himself and is still going strong. Last year saw the release of Hindsight, an overview of his musical life, that runs the gamut from hard driving blues to atmospheric folk to Ry Cooderish pop. Andrew Hawkey continues to plough his own unmistakable furrow between music, age, outsiderdom and the ups and downs of life.
Clovis Phillips is a multi instrumentalist and producer who has worked with a wide range of artists including Jeb Loy Nichols & the Westwood All-Stars and also as the duo Nichols & Phillips, Nashville legend Gail Davies, Jerry deCicca of the Black Swans, Welsh folk and jazz harpist Harriet Earis, Michael Weston King of My Darling Clementine as well as a host of folk/cajun/zydeco artists. He is presently also touring with The Will Barnes Quartet promoting their new album, Source of the Severn.
