A full day of free sound shows, immersive performances, drop-in workshops and open studios.

Carnedd is proud to invite you to May Day, our first event at our new creative hub at Ty Willcox, taking place on 6th of May 2024. Carnedd is a collaborative effort between four dynamic art collectives: SHIFT, Umbrella, TactileBOSCH and Dyddiau Du, supported by Axisweb. This event will bring together artists, performers, and community members for a day-long celebration of creativity, exploration, and collaboration.

May Day promises an array of exciting activities and experiences for all. Attendees can look forward to:

Immersive Durational Performances: Performances will take place throughout the day and across the building, inviting the viewers to explore the new site by watching, listening and moving with the performers.

Studio Visits: Get an exclusive peek into the creative process with studio visits from local artists. Discover their inspiration, techniques, and works-in-progress as they open their doors to the public.

Sound Work: Experience experimental sound works that push the boundaries of auditory artistry.

Workshops: Dive into hands-on workshops led by talented artists and creators. Umbrella’s Drop-in Life Drawing and a workshop exploring clowning, play and rituals!

Vegan Food and All-Day Drinks: Enjoy delicious vegan cuisine from Vegan Filth and there’ll be tea, coffee and refreshments available throughout the day.

Carnedd promises to be a vibrant project for artists, art lovers, and the local community. This event is an opportunity to engage and support Carnedd in our first event, celebrating the diverse talent and creativity thriving within our city.
