A key step in creating the scheme is to appoint an Access Champion to drive the project forward. The Champion will work with the arts sector, together with venues and theatres on new and imaginative ways of opening up access for Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent audiences, and their Carers or Personal Assistants.
The scheme’s partner organisations are Arts Council of Wales, Arts Council England, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the British Film Institute and Creative Scotland.
“We’re looking for an Access Champion to help us with our common goal of removing some of the barriers that prevent disabled people from enjoying everything that arts and culture can offer, and to give more people the chance to have meaningful, memorable and inspiring experiences.”
Amanda Loosemore, Arts Council of Wales.
The Access Champion can be based anywhere in the UK, and the role will be managed by the Arts Council of Wales on behalf of the partnership.
The closing dates for applications is Friday 21 October 2022. For more information including details of how to apply for this role, click here.
