1. Introduction 

Powys County Council Arts Service has selected ten organisations as recipients of the £675,000 Shared Prosperity Funding focused on supporting resilience, sustainability and transformation within the arts and creative industries in Powys. The funding will bring the organisations together in a collaborative peer learning network during the remainder of 2024 to support the organisations in delivering their projects.

We wish to commission an agency to deliver a day of training to the organisations focusing on sustainability and carbon reduction, alongside additional 1-2-1 mentoring of the organisations (minimum 3 hours each organisation). We are looking to run the training day in person as soon as possible in September/October.

2. Management 

The client for the project is Powys County Council.

The project will be managed by Alice Briggs Project Manager – SPF arts grant

3. Skills 

The external specialist must need to have: 

  • Experience and expertise as a sustainability, nature and carbon reduction organisation.
  • A strong track record in delivering training within the sustainability industry, climate action and social justice focusing on arts and cultural sector.

4. External specialists wishing to be considered should submit the following: 

  • A quotation for the work. 
  • A breakdown of costs.
  • An outline of the professional skills and experience the external specialist will bring. 
  • Examples of similar work undertaken.
  • References (2).

5. Project Timescale 

We expect the training day to be delivered in September or October, with the 1-2-1 mentoring to be completed by end November 2024.

£4000 excluding VAT

7. Evaluation Criteria 

The following criteria will be used to evaluate brief submissions: 

  • 40% - financial value of the quotation. 
  • 60% - qualitative information, broken down as follows: 
  • 30% - assessment of expertise/similar work undertaken. 
  • 30% - method statement outlining approach.
