We are committed to building an arts and health sector that is:

  • Cohesive
Underpinned by parity and partnership working between the arts and health/social care sectors.
  • Stable
Arts and Health is mainstream, properly funded and an essential part of health delivery.
  • Continuously learning
Sharing and learning from experience and good practice is the norm.
  • Innovative
There is a place for innovation, testing new ideas and ways of working.
  • Accessible
There are many pathways for people to access arts and health interventions.
  • Focused
We work together across Wales on shared priorities.
  • Representative
The sector is inclusive and people with lived experience are always centre-stage.

 Our priorities are:

  • Supporting better mental health
Creative projects that benefit people living with mental health conditions, aim to prevent loneliness or refer people to creative activities to support wellbeing (arts on prescription)
  • Improving connections with nature
    Creative projects that aim to improve people’s health and wellbeing by increasing their connection with nature through the arts;
  • Working to reduce health inequalities
Creative projects designed to bring health and wellbeing benefits to communities and individuals adversely affected by hardship, marginalisation or deprivation.
  • Improving physical health and wellbeing
Championing arts projects that support greater physical health.
  • Investing in workforce wellbeing
Supporting the wellbeing of artists and the wider Arts workforce as well as colleagues working in the NHS and Social Care.
