We are holding a series of focus groups on Zoom with the public throughout August 2020, together with an online survey. The aim is to gather the views of Welsh-speaking audiences, or those who may not attend the arts, on how the arts are marketed to Welsh speakers and learners.

The Zoom focus groups are held independently by Catrin Llwyd and Lowri Johnston on behalf of the Arts Council of Wales. All focus group attendees will be included in a prize draw. One name will be chosen at random to win a £50 voucher for a local restaurant of your choice.

If you understand Welsh but are more comfortable in English, you may be interested in our English-medium focus group which will be held on Wednesday 19 August at 09:30am. Please contact ymchwilccc@gmail.com for more details.

What are we trying to measure?

We want to hear your views on how the arts are marketed in Welsh, and to gather ideas for ways to improve this across the sector in Wales.

What will I need to do in the focus group?

The informal conversation will last about an hour. There will be up to 6 attendees in total. We will ask you a series of open questions to gather your views. Participation is voluntary, and you will not have to answer everything, but it will be an opportunity for you to have your say!

What will we do with the results?

The summary results of the focus groups, our on-line survey, and specific conversations with the arts sector, will inform a report to the Arts Council of Wales. Any contributions and information shared during the focus group will be treated anonymously and confidentially. We will not name any individuals or specific organisations as part of the final report. We will report back on a thematic basis.
