Unlimited Connects Wales – Into the Future is the culmination of a series of events that happened across Wales and the digital realm in Spring 2020 funded by Arts Council Wales and the National Lottery and delivered by Unlimited, an arts commissioning programme for disabled artists working with Disability Arts Cymru and many other partners.

As the Covid landscape shifts and changes the cultural sector, we will look into the future focusing on disabled artists and audiences in Wales and discuss how best to take advantage of this unique moment in time to develop the disability arts agenda, opening the conversation up to all, including those that may not have been present before.

This day long digital event will feature a range of panel discussions and provocations and is for artists, venues, organisations and funding bodies based and working within Wales.

You can pick and choose which areas of the day you’d like to attend.

10:30 – 11:00

Warm up session

A practical chance to stretch and move to get prepared for the day ahead

11:30 – 13:00

Main Panel

Disabled artists may be more experienced, varied and successful than ever but are they still ‘vulnerable’ in a post covid world? How will the Welsh cultural sector ensure disabled artists are still placed centre stage in their plans as they reopen, redevelop and redesign their futures?

14:00 – 15:00

Provocation Sessions (pick one to attend)

Youth Arts

Young Disabled People face multiple barriers when accessing artistic activity in Wales. What can we be do to remove these specific barriers to young people moving forward?

USP Wales

What is unique about Wales – and how does that manifest in our art, including that by disabled artists? What languages should we be using both on and off stage?

Venues in Wales

How can venues share practice and better support disabled artists, participants and audiences post Covid?

15:30 – 16:00

Wrap up Session

A chance for participants to share their thoughts from the day and express their intentions for the future – so what are we all going to do in the future to ensure equality, access and inclusion for disabled artists and audiences in Wales.

Later

Curate your own evening of art

We’ll be providing a series of links so you can curate your own celebration of work by disabled artists active in Wales

Access will be provided throughout the day. When you book your place please ensure that you fill out the box which asks for access requirements so that these can be provided where possible.

Currently we are asking people to book a single ticket for the day. Full booking links for all sessions and further information will be supplied closer to the day to those who are registered so that you can pick and choose the elements you wish to attend.

An orientation session for those unfamiliar with the digital platform Zoom will be conducted a day before the event.

And also…

We want to create some content showing some of the unique creative responses that have happened across Wales since lockdown. Please tell us up to five things that you or your organisation has done for, or including, disabled artists, participants or audiences since March so we can celebrate them with you. This might be specific sessions you have run for disabled participants or inclusive groups, work you have shared with access features, conversations that you have staged with disabled speakers… anything that you have developed or delivered since March that has been for or includes disabled artists or audiences.

And finally

At the end of the day we want to supply a range of links to content by disabled artists and inclusive companies so people can curate a evening of art for themselves. If you have – or could have – something online for the evening of 5 August/that week, please let us know so we can add it to the list.

(title of work, duration, location, how long will it be up for i.e its up all the time, it will be accessible for that night only, what access features does it have etc)
